Out & About

LaFonda & Anthony
I'm always looking for new experiences that might enhance my life in some way, broaden my outlook or just provide some good, clean fun. Last Wednesday evening did all three. I was invited by my friend LaFonda to attend a cooking class. I'm what one might call an experimental cook. Whatever I have available I create a meal with it. I was excited especially when she told me it was a creole restaurant.

Me helping with the Jambalaya
Marcelas Creole Cookery is a small spot in Seattle's Pioneer Square district. Chef Anthony was our host and guide. We collectively (12 students) alternatively assisted in the preparation of Creole Garlic Shrimp Crostini, Jambalaya, and Bread Pudding with a Whiskey Sauce. It was like being on one of those TV cooking shows. Of course the best part was sampling everything. We had a blast!

Research shows that staying curious and involved can contribute to the health of your brain. Enroll in a class at your neighborhood community college, attend a lecture, try a new restaurant.

Self-care = Self Love,

Jacqueline
