Finding Your Roots

"Today is the day the Lord has made andwill rejoice and be glad in it."

I was inspired to renew my membership with the Black Genealogy Research Group of Seattle after attending an outstanding presentation given by Horace H. Foxall, Jr., a retired architect and historian.

His talk was on the ,Rosenwald Schools started in 1928 by Booker T. Washington & Julius Rosenwald. the founder of Sears.

Several members of the group have been able to trace their families back 4-5 generations. I have just started my family research but am encouraged; it's much easier now with the internet. A good friend just had her DNA tested. That will be my next step.

It's very exciting and I'm looking forward to finding out more about my immediate family and my ancestors.
FYI:

Onward & Upward
