from the chaos of your day, or putting your cares and woes aside for a few moments.
It has the potential to restore you mentally and physically. There are several types of massage so you can choose the one that best suits your needs.
TYPES OF MASSAGE
Deep Tissue - Deep tissue massage is a type of massage therapy that focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is especially helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas such as stiff necks, low back tightness, and sore shoulders.
Heated Stone - Heated stone massage is a variation on classic massage therapy. Heated smooth, flat stones are placed on key points on the body. The massage therapist may also hold the stones and use them to massage certain areas of the body. The use of heated stones for healing dates back to ancient times.
Shiatsu - Shiatsu is a Japanese form of bodywork. The word shiatsu means "finger pressure", and shiatsu is sometimes described as a finger pressure massage. Like acupuncture, shiatsu is based on the holistic system of traditional Chinese medicine, where illness is thought to result from imbalances in the natural flow of energy. Shiatsu therapists use finger and palm pressure to energize pathways, called meridians to improve energy flow. A scientific explanation is that shiatsu calms an overactive sympathetic nervous system, which improves circulation, relieves stiff muscles, and alleviates stress.
Swedish - Swedish massage is the most common and best-known type of massage in the West. If it's your first time at the spa or you don't get massage very often, Swedish massage is
the perfect massage for you. A Swedish massage can be slow and gentle, or vigorous and bracing, depending on the therapist's personal style and what he or she wants to achieve.
Self-care = Self love.
