Beets & Beet Greens - A good source of Vitamin c, K, magnesium, beets combine well with carrot, cucumber & apple juices (it has a strong flavor). Beets & beet green juice is good for the bladder, kidney & liver. It can also help improve red blood cells and promote better circulation.
Carrot - Carrot juice is a good one to blend with other juices because it is naturally sweet. It aids in digestion, good for cleansing the bladder and liver, and is said is great in defending against cancer.
Celery - Celery juice is another great one to mix with other juices; is good on its own too. A good source of Vitamin A, B6, C, K, potassium, & calcium. It too aids in cleansing the kidneys & liver and can assist in weight loss. Celery juice helps maintain both acid-alkaline balance in the blood, important for good health.
Cucumber - They have a high water content & contain a large amount of potassium. The skin contains Vitamin A so you should leave the skin on when juicing. It is good when mixed with carrot juice and also good for cutting the strong tastes of other vegetables. Cucumbers are good skin problems and can help lower high blood pressure.
Greens (Collard, Kale, turnip, etc.) - Greens are an excellent source of chlorophyll. Juiced greens taste similar to cabbage so they taste better when mixed with other juices. I didn't know greens are a great source of calcium especially if you have an intolerance for milk products. Greens strengthen bones & teeth & provide a good defense against stomach and liver cancers.
These are just a few of the vegetables that can be juiced. There are numerous combinations so you can be creative. February is Valentine's month. Show yourself some self-love by making a commitment to taking better care of yourself from the inside to the skin-side.
Together we thrive,
Jacqueline
