Building mental muscle is as important to our well-being as strengthening the rest of the body. It doesn't take much time and can be done in the following 5 easy steps:
1. To promote tranquility, help control the heart rate and help in concentration do the following.
- Inhale for a count of six
- Hold your breath for a count of tow
- Exhale for a count of seven
2. Act as if. State who you are as if you'd already achieved your goal. Examples:
- I am confident and I thrive.
- I am the most focused and successful person in the country.
3. Spend a minimum of 60 seconds remembering three things you've done well in the last 24-hours and then envision three things you are going to do well today.
4. Repeat Step 2 to reinforce your self-image of success.
5. Repeat Step 1 to remind yourself of the feeling of being calm and balanced.
Together we thrive,
Jacqueline
