| October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month
As many of you know, this is national breast cancer awareness month. Like many of you too, I know women personally who are breast cancer victor's, as I like to call them. There's an organization here in Seattle called Cierra Sisters. It does a fantastic job of supporting women and men who have either been recently diagnosed, going through their treatments or have completed their treatments and are now thriving. I'd like to give a "shot out" to Bridgette Hempstead, President & Founder of Cierra Sisters for her outstanding work and dedication to this organization. She too is a courageous cancer victor.
The following information came from Dr Andrew Weil's website:
Eating too much Fat: Keep your dietary fat below 25% of your daily calories.
Consuming Animal Fats: Polyunsaturated fats (including many vegetable oils) and hydrogenated oils (margarine's & vegetable shortenings) can all increase cancer risks. Minimize consumption of all.
An intake of conventionally raised meat, poultry, eggs & dairy products. These may contain hormone residues that influence estrogen metabolism. Replace with organic, hormone-free versions and use sparingly. Please, please remember that you only have one body so take the very best care of it from the inside to the skin side.
Have a blessed day,
Jacqueline
