Several universities, including research from the University of Maryland, University of Florida, and Tufts University have conducted studies that show the benefits of strength training as one ages. It helps to address the 3 B's: Body Weight, Body Composition, Blood Pressure.
All of the participants performed 25 minutes of strength exercise and 25 minutes of endurance exercise, two or three days per week for a period of eight weeks and the results were a decrease in body weight, increase in lean weight and a reduction in blood pressure. For more details
I try to go to the gym at least twice a week and admit I'm not always successful. Fortunately, my exercise class (3 times weekly) includes weights so I get some strength training there. Remember, we only have one body so take the very best care of it from the inside to the skin-side.
Have a blessed day,
Jacqueline
