This past Sunday I watched Joel Olsteen (he's my favorite TV minister). As usual, Joel had some pearls to share. His topic was intriguing because he made mention of the brain. Joel said that negative emotions take up more space in the brain than positive one's and that negative emotions are located in a different part of the brain than the positive ones. He went on to say we can train the mind to dwell on all the good that's happened or is happening by overriding the negative thoughts---"We remember what we should be forgetting." The statement that got me was, "What you remember will determine the life you're going to live."
We all have negative things in our past (the past could be 20-years ago or yesterday). We also have many great things that have happened too. Joel suggested spending at least the same amount of time on your victories as you spend on your failures/disappointments. My question is, "which channel will you choose."
I heard this quote on the radio last Saturday but didn't hear the author's name.
"Your net worth is determined by what's left when you subtract your bad habits from the good ones."
Together we thrive,
Jacqueline
