Spring Clean Your Refrigerator

According to Laura Watson, Certified Holistic Health & Nutritional Coach, its not a good idea to keep unhealthy food around. It doesn't mean you deprive yourself of all of your favorites BUT it does mean that eliminating the foods you know may set you up for failure in your healthy eating plan is probably a good idea. Spring cleaning your refrigerator and cupboards are just as important as Spring cleaning your house.
Here are some suggestions of foods to toss:
  • Foods that are high in sugar (cookies, ice cream (my favorite), sugary cereals)
  • Fried foods (ALL THE CHIPS)
  • Foods with only refined white flour (bakery items, some breads, most crackers)
  • Low fat foods (they take out the fat but add sugar and fillers to make it taste good)

I know many of you probably think throwing food out is wasteful but if it's not healthy you'd being doing yourself and your family a favor to toss it now.
Replace the junk food with:
  • Whole organic fruits & vegetables
  • Low sugar dressings, sauces, jams, etc.
  • Whole grain snack foods

I know this can be hard for many but it will make a huge difference in your health. Ms Watson says that making these few changes will be extremely beneficial in setting yourself up for success on your journey to a long and healthy life. It may seem like a sacrifice now but it's worth it! Take the very best care of yourself from the inside to the skin-side.
Together we thrive,
Jacqueline

  1. Yay! Kicking the my sugar meant getting rid of the junk in the kitchen! I spring cleaned the fridge and restocked it with organic green leafy veggies and non dairy products. I ear like this anyway but it's always nice to open your fridge up and see healthy colorful food options.
