No, I didn't literally walk on water but me and two of my courageous friends, Eunice and Judith did walk across water.
Last Wednesday, at Judith's suggestion, we decided to walk across the I-90 bridge that crosses Lake Washington connecting Seattle with Mercer Island (the bridge is 6,620 ft. long). None of us had ever done it before which is why it was such an amazing feat. To get onto the bridge we walked from 30th & Jackson streets down to Martin Luther King, made a left on Massachusetts (approximately 1.5 miles) and through the Mt Baker tunnel to the entrance of the bridge. It was a perfect day, blue skies, warm sun and surprisingly mild winds once we got onto the bridge.
It's a completely different perspective being on the bridge on foot as opposed to being in a car. I didn't realize how close to the water the bridge is in some places. You had to definitely be on the lookout for the cyclist but they were very courteous, letting you know when they needed to pass. It took us approximately 1-hour & 15 minutes to walk across and back. Pretty good time for a seasoned citizen!
It was a great way to exercise and beautiful too. I'm thinking about joining a group that walks some of the trails in the area so I can see more of natures beauty in my area . After walking the bridge I'm confident I'll be ready for the "Walk of Champions" on June 29th.
Find something you love doing and just do it! Remember, only you can make yourself a priority. Take the very best care of yourself from the inside to the skin-side.
Self-care = Self-love
Together we thrive,
Jacqueline
