Jacqueline's Journal - The Amtrak Experience

King Station Arrival

I've traveled to the Bay Area more times than I can count but this is the first time I've ever ridden the train. I decided it was time to try something a little different and I was also up for a new adventure. Now that I'm a "seasoned citizen" I have the time and thought it would give me the opportunity to see some beautiful scenery and relax.

Have you tried anything new lately. If not, I encourage to to do so sooner than later. Doing the same things, the same way, year-in and year-out is dull and boring. It's easy to get into a rut especially as one matures! Trying new things keeps things interesting.

On-board the train
Amtrak is not the Orient Express but I had a good time. I made it a point to meet people on the train by going to the Observation Car, where people gathered to read, work on their computers or meet and talk with fellow passengers. Eating in the Dining Car was another way to engage in conversation with people I didn't know; it was communal seating.

I left on Wednesday morning & arrived at Jack London Square the next morning. I'm attending a
wedding but plan to play tourist even though I grew up in the Bay Area. I'll keep you posted.

Self-care = Self-love.

Together we thrive,

Jacqueline

  1. Loved reading your article. I had an amtrak experience earlier thi summer. I rode back home from my fabulous vacation in Philadelphia. The ride was relaxing and I had the opportunity to interact with with people I didn't know.
