I was finally able to connect with my friend, Arlene, for lunch the Tuesday before departure. That too was a good time. Arlene is a fairly new friend (meaning I haven't know her for 30+ years). I love being in her company because she's fun and drama-free! We had a great time catching up at Kincaid's, a restaurant in Jack London Square.
The final treat of the day was a call from La Fonda, one of my friends in Seattle, saying she was in Oakland. What! She'd flown in for two days on business so we were able to hook up at Skates, another great place on the Berkeley Marina.
The only reason I'm naming all these place is so if you're ever in the Bay Area you can check them out.
My mission completed, I'm now ready to go home, ready to get back to my world in Seattle. As I've said numerous times, I had a fantastic trip. Between my "stay-cation" at home in Seattle and my vacation in the Bay Area, this has been a very good summer.
I sincerely hope you all enjoyed your summer too. I really hope you found some of my suggestions for a stay-cation helpful and that you took advantage of some of the sites and activities in your hometown. If you were able to travel, I hope you, your family & friends had a grad time.
Remember, only you can create the life you want. Set your intentions and expect great things to happen.
