Brain Aerobics

Turn off the television. Television puts your brain on autopilot. If you do watch TV, be selective. Watch something educational or a program that makes you think.

I started a television fast at the first of the year, allowing myself two nights a week. I am amazed at how much reading I’ve done. I also noticed that after a couple of weeks the desire to watch diminished.

For those TV addicts, try reducing the number of days/hours you watch TV and journal what you do with that time. You'll be amazed.

Talk with people. Have real discussions about things you’re interested in. Notice I said discussions not arguments. Good conversation can really stimulate the brain.

Try Something New. Creative skills especially, like music and dance will exercise different parts of your brain and can provide great benefits.

Learn a new language. This exercises the part of your brain that stores language information. It can even make you better at speaking your own language.

To Infinite Possibilities,

Jacqueline
