I've decided the blog theme for the entire month of January is Infinite Possibilities. 2013 was amazing. DIVA Downtime had a birthday, I've increased my computer skills beyond my wildest expectations, and I walked a half-marathon--13 miles. My younger friends will be proud to know that I am the proud owner of a Samsung tablet even though I still don't own a SMART phone. Nevertheless, much progress has been made by this seasoned citizen!
There are exciting things on the horizon for DIVA Downtime. I've been invited to write self-care and wellness articles for PWOC Newsletter (Professional Women of Color) and also have the opportunity to participate in an online radio program that promotes wellness, as a guest speaker.
I am passionate about helping all women in general, black women in particular, realize the value and importance of taking the very best care of their body temples. It's so important that we realize the connection between our overall well-being and what we feed our bodies, minds & spirits. I am learning new things everyday and want to share whatever I can that might assist you on your journey towards self-care & wellness..
I started a new tradition for myself this year. Instead of my usual New Year's day feast, I did a 2-day vegetable juice fast to start my new year. I can hear the groans of many of you but I'm merely suggesting that it may be time to start some new dietary traditions in your households too.
Think about setting an intention to live a healthier life in 2014; eating more fruits & vegetable, cutting back on your meat intake if not eliminating it altogether. Be the trendsetter for health and wellness in your family & community. Commit to really having a happy, healthy new year.
To Infinite Possibilities,
Jacqueline
