Life’s a Beach
One of the many wonderful things about the Northwest is the numerous places one can go to be by the water. I love Alki Beach and go there often. In the summer, weather permitting, it’s a great place to walk, ride a bike or watch a lively volleyball game. If you don’t live near water, find another beautiful place in your area.
One of my absolute favorite spots is Cactus Restaurant on Alki. The decor and spectacular sunset views are reminiscent of evenings spent in Puerto Vallarta. Trying new restaurants is a great way to travel without buying a airline ticket.
Explore some of the ethnic restaurants in your area (Japanese, Thai, & Mexican are a few of my favorites).Be bold and eat something you’ve never tried before.
I do it at home too. Last week I took myself on a quick trip to Japan; I wanted to use the beautiful hand-made sushi set made by my friend Cheryl. I even had Saki. Be creative and use your imagination.
