Walking for a Worthy Cause

Me on the right ~ Judith on the left

There was 9,000 participants in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in Seattle, Sunday, June 2nd. Me and my friend, Judith, were among those who walked 3.5 miles in support of finding a cure for breast cancer; the disease strikes Washington women often.

According to the Center for Disease Control, 100 women in Washington state are diagnosed with breast cancer each week---the highest rate of diagnosis in the country.

I have several friends who are breast cancer "victors" and one who is currently going through treatment so participating in the walk was particularly significant for me. It was so amazing seeing all the women, men & children at Seattle Center, all there supporting love-one's lost or currently living with cancer.

It was a great way to spend Sunday morning and a good way to support a very worthy cause.

Self-care = self-love.

Together we thrive,

Jacqueline
