Just in case your plan to shed a few pounds before summer fell by the roadside, Today is all about Body Image (self-love), Wednesday, Suit Up, How to choose the perfect swim suit for your body-type, Thursday, Ernestine Shepherd, a "phenomenal woman" that I guarantee will inspire you, and finally, Friday, Self Defense, Why we all need sunscreen.
It's a juicy week so stay tuned!
Today: Body Image ~ Self-love
obsession with body image.
Surveys continue to reveal that many of us are so preoccupied with attaining or maintaining a “fashionable” weight that dieting becomes a way of life. If not put in check, obsession with body image can lead to eating disorders.
How we feel about our bodies affects our outlook on life. It can be hard sometimes because we are continuously bombarded with images representing beauty that look nothing like most of us or 95% of the rest of the world population for that matter. Much of what we see implies that if you're not thin, have a certain skin color, or long wavy hair, you're not beautiful. Not so!
Adopting a healthy lifestyle is a better way to promote a positive body image. You only have one body, your temple that houses your essence. That gift should be honored, protected and respected.
Self-care = Self Love
Together we thrive,
Jacqueline
