Brain Cramp

I was having a conversation with a friend the other day about religious beliefs. We both agreed that most of the world religions have similar core beliefs---love thy neighbor, peace, do unto others, etc. Not in those exact terms of course. That being said, the conversation continued. If this is true then why is so much of the world in complete and total chaos? We all know that war, greed, hunger, lack & limitation on too many levels to name are contributing factors BUT since most of the world population believes in some form of higher power, shouldn't that make things better? Are people practicing what they say they believe or are they just talking about it, arguing about it, attempting to impose it on other, and even more insane, killing over it. Of course, we couldn't come up with an answer but here's the challenge. Are YOU practicing your core beliefs (I'm only talking about the positive & constructive ones)? Is your personal spiritual practice contributing to bringing peace, not in the world maybe, but just in your family, your immediate circle, your workplace? Is your behavior one that fosters compassion, generosity, caring towards others? Are you a perpetrator of the very things you say you don't believe? I encourage us all not to be as concerned about what OTHERS are doing, but more about you WE are doing. We all have the power to change our minds which contributes to changing the world. Not tomorrow. Today!

Blessings,

Jacqueline
