What is Inflammation?

There are two types of inflammation. One is the body's natural healing response to trauma. An example would be when you twist your ankle and it gets swollen, that's inflammation. There's another type of inflammation which is more dangerous. This low-level chronic type of inflammation has been shown to lead to all of the major diseases and health issues facing us today. Some are:
  • Heart Disease
  • Cancer
  • Alzheimer's
  • MS
  • Diabetes 
The evidence shows that it all comes down to lifestyle, stress and food. By eating anti-inflammatory diet, we can actually prevent and sometimes even cure these disease. 

An anti-inflammatory diet consists of green and brightly colored fruits and vegetables, lean poultry, fish and seafood, legumes, nuts and certain herbs and spices. Monounsaturated fats are good---olive oil, avocado's, coconuts. This diet is also dairy-free and wheat-free. 

It's fairly simple.  We can minimize and possibly prevent chronic diseases just by eating healthier more nutritious food. Remember, only you can make yourself a priority.
