8 Ways to Create D.I.V.A Downtime - #8

Count your blessings. Every day on earth is a gift to you from God. Practice being thankful and grateful. It will help you focus on the positive things in your life as opposed to the negative. One of my favorite books is "The Power of Now" by Eckhart Tolle. He does a great job of describing the benefits of staying in the present moment. Don't get excited. It doesn't mean you can make plans or set goals. What I found interesting is he says that most of us are either living in the past or the future which is why we miss out on all the good that may be happening in the "here and now." I have incorporated some of what Mr Tolle advocates and have found it extremely helpful in keeping me focused. It has also helped me tremendously in not allowing memories from my past taint my present and future.
